Homage to/rip-off of the poem "Dark Night of the Soul" by St. John of the Cross. Inspired by similar feelings. Originally written for piano but then arranged for a full rock band, w/ the left hand going to the bass-guitar and the right hand going to the guitar-guitar. A snippet of the original piano arrangement played on a cheesy toy keyboard as a segue between songs is included as a "bonus track" on the album download.
